Making Data Talk Workshop, November 6, 2010, Denver CO As part of the 138th American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting, the APHA Learning Institute will be offering a preconference workshop titled “Making Data Talk: Communicating Public Health Data to the Public”. The purpose of this workshop is to provide practical suggestions and examples on how scientists, health promoters, health educators, clinicians, statisticians, and others can better communicate data to the public, policy makers, and the news media.

The Food Forum of the Institute of Medicine and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Food Policy Alliance will convene a workshop on the current and potential role of food technology in addressing overweight and obesity. This workshop will explore the various technological advances within the modern food system and how they might interact with behavioral interventions, economics, innovation, and design.
