NIH Grant on Prevention and Health Deadline October 26th.
The National Institutes for Health announced it is soliciting grant applications to conduct economic analyses focusing on the effects of prevention and health on the following: costs of health care, benefits to the health care system, benefits to other sectors of the economy, or cost-effectiveness.
Apply to Become an ACHIEVE 2011 Community Deadline November 15th
All local health departments are invited to submit an application to become an ACHIEVE (Action Communities for Health, Innovation, and EnVironmental changE) community. ACHIEVE communities receive support to strengthen a coalition of community partners and develop a community action plan that addresses comprehensive chronic disease prevention through policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change strategies. ACHIEVE, now in its fourth year, is funded by the Division of Adult and Community Health, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is part of a broader Healthy Communities collaborative with CDC, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD), National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), and YMCA of the USA (Y-USA).
