The Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety & Health (GOSH) Conference is traditionally geared towards “safety-related” initiatives. This year the planning committee has made a concerted effort this year to highlight worksite wellness, to demonstrate the growing trend of integrating the safety and wellness. The 2013 conference, held in Portland at the Convention Center, is offering a short course on Thursday, March 7th specifically devoted to worksite wellness. On March 24-26 the Oregon School Employee Wellness Conference: It Starts with You! will be held in Bend. Conference Format: Twelve interactive breakout sessions designed to equip you with the latest evidence-based information, practical strategies and tools for school employee wellness. Who should attend: school and community college employees, administrators, human resources, superintendents, school nurses, wellness coordinators, local public health and school board members.
Registration is open for the American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes EXPO in Portland, Oregon on May 4th, 2013. Held annually at the Oregon Convention Center, EXPO attracts over 5,000 attendees interested in the latest information and products for diabetes. While at this free event, people have access to health screenings, education, healthy eating and active living demonstrations, workshops and “Ask the Expert” consultations.
