Please join C-Change and Legacy for a webinar focused on the role of obesity cancer prevention, treatment and survival.  Webinar learning objectives include:

  • Identify and discuss the role of obesity and physical activity in cancer etiology, prevention and survival.
  • Discuss national and state specific overall obesity and obesity caused cancer rates, deaths, and costs from the Trust For America’s Health F as in Fat report.
  • Describe practical examples of policies and programs developed and implemented by CCC Coalitions that promote prevention and combat obesity.
  • Discuss what coalitions can do to further their efforts to reduce obesity in their state.

APHA webinar
Making a plan: Partnerships for transforming community health through city planning
On Friday, Sept. 27 at 2:30 p.m. EST, join APHA for a discussion on public health collaboration. Successful partnerships are at the core of both public health and planning practice. With the right partners at the table, more change can happen faster and with greater satisfaction for communities. But how do we get planners to work with public health professionals? One answer: it takes leadership at the highest level. In this webinar, Planning Directors and Health Commissioners from Austin, TX and Baltimore, MD will pair up to discuss how they are building bridges between their departments and working to transform their approach to complex problems like chronic disease.

Living Well/Wisdom Warriors Tribe-Specific Leader Training
In Washington, the Living Well (CDSMP) program is known in native communities as Wisdom Warriors. A Wisdom Warrior leader training for members of tribal communities will take place at Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe in Kingston, WA Monday, October 14 through Thursday, October17th. Participants from Oregon are welcome.
