School Wellness Award
The Nutrition Council of Oregon, the Oregon Dairy Council, and the Oregon Department of Education are pleased to announce that the 2013-14 School Wellness Award applications are now available on-line. This marks the 7th year that the School Wellness Awards will recognize 3 Oregon schools for effectively implementing their school wellness policies and improving nutrition and physical activity within their schools!
A Blue Ribbon Panel will select 3 schools to receive a $2,500 award, to further fund wellness efforts, a personalized plaque, and a custom banner. This is a unique opportunity to bring positive media and public attention to the great work that your school is doing!

Call for Proposals: Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Projects, February 2014
The Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, is planning to launch a call for proposals for funding in February 2014. Grants will support health impact assessment, or HIA, demonstration projects as well as development of HIA programs to integrate health in decision-making. Eligible organizations include nonprofits; state, local and tribal agencies; and educational institutions. Final grant award decisions will be announced in the fall of 2014.
