Join the American Diabetes Association for a full-day conference, The Annual Diabetes Practice Update, focusing on the latest emerging trends in scientific and clinical diabetes information. The Annual Diabetes Practice Update will be held on November 4 at the DoubleTree in downtown Portland. Topics include motivational interviewing in diabetes care, lessons from the T1D exchange, update on American Diabetes Association guidelines and pharmacology, diabetes prevention, and Mediterranean-style eating pattern and other diets in diabetes management. Six continuing education credits will be offered for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and diabetes educators. The presenters explore the emerging intersection of tobacco, marijuana, and electronic cigarettes; the latter being the delivery device for both these and other substances.
Expanding Hypertension Control Learning Session Series
ASTHO and the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention have added five new podcasts to their Million Hearts Learning Session Series on Policy, Program and System Strategiesto Control Hypertension. These podcasts feature presentations and discussions with national experts discussing how to implement and expand different hypertension control strategies. Each learning session podcast includes a transcript, a speaker biography, and a summary of podcast objectives.
